Family

One of the major things that shape your life is your family, and I’m no different.

I grew up on a farm, with plenty of space and a big garden, but also away from the bussing city life.
My dad, as you might have guessed, is a farmer. Always at home, yet always busy. I never really followed that kind of life, why would you work so many hours, struggle to plan holidays, and never be able to say: “I’m off, this will have to wait until Monday.”. But he enjoys it, and that’s the most important aspect, and he always has the weirdest unusual parts laying around, made for that one odd job that needs it.
Luckily for me, the job also meant that he would be able to take off for a few hours to help me at times that usually would have been difficult with a more conventional job.

At this time, my mother worked as a gardener, having a green thumb and always making sure that everything would grow.

I also have two older brothers, and that has its ups and downs. When we were younger, they found a thrill in dirt bikes, as they grew older it went into scooters. Needlessly to say, they spent a lot of time in the workshop, fixing and working with their bikes, while I was more focused on my games.
As brothers do we would argue, and play together, so if they were ever bored, you could always make fun of the youngest brother.
That being said, they have always looked after me, and as I grew older I realized brothers aren’t that bad.

The oldest brother became a mechanic, tinkering and repairing everything with the random cars he bought. As his career evolved, he later became a windmill technician. Now when he is not working, he is looking after his young son or repairing/rebuilding his house.

My other brother got working in the tailoring industry. While still finishing his school, later his university degree, and balancing his social life he still managed to become a partner of a company producing tailor-made suits for people. Growing it from a smaller business into a franchise and somehow still getting good grades..? To this day I have no idea how he did it, but I’m happy it worked out for him.

While I was at Ryslinge Efterskole, my parents got divorced. That is what it is, but of course, that meant some changes.
After a while, both my parents got new partners, and with that, the family grew.

The partner my father got, had a daughter from her previous marriage, so I suddenly had a younger sister.
It was nice suddenly to have someone younger than you, and fun to see her go through some of the things I did, this time as someone looking back.
She is not to be underestimated though, and her quick wits keep me on my toes to try and keep up. It’s not for nothing she is currently acing her engineering studies.

So that’s a summary of my family life. Honestly, I’m confused about how much I should put here. But I figured this has been shaping my life, so here it is.
