It’s been a while since my last update, but this is because I get into more regular days. Most of my days are spent around school and homework, and I have explored most places near my home. But that shall not stop me from finding something beautiful on weekends, and Tokyo is full of beautiful places!
One of my friends from my class “Sven” told me about a building, where you can for free go to the 45’th floor to an observation deck and get a great view over Tokyo. I always enjoy sights like this, as it shows how insanely big Tokyo is.
I have also found a nice sento (bathhouse), that I visit on Sundays. most of it is just big baths that are very hot, usually between 35-45 degrees C. But it has an outdoor section, so you can sit in a warm bath outside, to cool down your head and when the weather is clear like the first day I visited it, you can even see Mount Fuji. After my bath I went exploring and ended up at a small restaurant called “Family Restaurant Abu”, some locals were sitting there and I talked as well as we could when they don’t speak English and I don’t speak Japanese yet, but an 82-year-old woman had a blast trying to explain something to me in Japanese. The shop is small so I had a chance to chat with the owner and his wife (who also worked in the restaurant), and with Google Translate it was a great evening.
So a week went by, and I went to the sento again and went to the same restaurant as I had promised I would drop by if I weren’t too busy. I talked with the owner some more, and they enjoy showing me some traditional Japanese stuff, while I tell them how different things are in Denmark. I plan to keep visiting them, as it’s a nice place and very relaxing so you can calm down before a new week starts.
Lastly, here are the pictures from the observation deck, as well as some pictures I took while walking around Tokyo.
I plan on one update per week since I usually don’t have time to explore too much during the normal weekdays.
